Not a good run at all. Thought conditions were ok although there was some humidity with dew point around 16. Still better than the 15K race and other workouts I have done recently. First 10K felt pretty smooth although I realize after the pace was slower than what I thought I was going. Stopped for water just before the first 5K at HM pace. Was surprised to see the first km so slow as I thought I put it a good effort. Definitely tried to increase the pace substantially but the splits just couldn't drop below 4:00. By the 4th KM I was tiring significantly and at this point just wanted to make it to the 5 kms and see if I could recover. Took an Endurance Tap during the 5th km but it didn't seem to help much.

Started the second segment with a bit of a burst but had no hopes of maintaining this pace. The second km dropped substantially and then it just got worse. Just felt like I had no power despite muscles not really feeling sore. More like a general fatigue and lack of energy - I couldn't even push myself past tempo breathing if I wanted to. Ended up finishing the segment and then jogging to the water fountain. By this point I was pretty wrecked and by the time I hit 28K it was just a death march to the finish. Just no energy at all. Not sure what happened, hopefully it was just a lack of glycogen maybe from not eating enough yesterday. Workouts had been going pretty good so I had high hopes for this run, just crazy I couldn't even hit the early kms on pace.
