3km race in Ashbridge's Bay along the path and boardwalk. Crazy hot and sticky today with dew point around 20. Had to wait in the sun for about 10 minutes before the start just sapping energy. Started off really slow being stuck behind some walkers on narrow path. Was able to drop to 4:00 pace for the next 400m but then just started falling apart, couldn't believe how far 1km was and how little energy I had. Fitness is nowhere to be found. Was able to maintain pace for the 2nd km and then pick it up a bit in the 3rd with a nice kick in the last 80m or so. Was completely drained by the end as breathing had already become accelerated just past the 2km mark.
