Notes

Path of the Flood Historic Half Marathon - Today's run ended up a bust. The race was a combination of roads and trails with the first and last 5k on the roads while the middle 7+miles were on trails. Sailed easily through the first 5k then slowed a bit on first part of the rail-trail. The trail had a brief transition back on a road to cross a bridge then went off-road again, but this time rather than the nice rail trail, it was a newly created man-made trail cut up the hillside with lots of loose gravel which quickly killed my ankle. My times continued to slow while attempted to do a run/walk but by mile 10 I decided to make the best of a bad situation and walked the rest of the way to the finish. On the bright side, the weather was great and scenery couldn’t have been better.

It’s been an awesome spring training season but after pushing for the past 3 months, I’ll be taking it easy for the next few weeks while I do a recovery month before deciding where my training should take me next.
