Notes

Well I think I can say it has been a very consistent season. This time is only 3 seconds off Paul short which was 22:36. My new goal of the season has been to break 6:00 min mile pace for a 6k which would put me at a 22:19. Hopefully I will hit it this season!!

I actually really enjoyed this 6k race, it felt good, I was nice and relaxed for the whole race. First mile was fast came in at 5:40's, or that's what I heard. Might have gone out too fast, however at no point in the race did I feel like I was dying. I probably settled too much at the top of the hill by the pool. This is the spot I usually play catch up and get to a better spot in the race, however since I had such a speedy start I was confused as to what I should do and a little more tired than usual.Due to some nice encouragement from coach directly past the pool in the dirt trail before heading back downhill I snapped out of my settling and began to chase more people. After the down hill and entering Ferndale I passed a few people and now the only person close to me was a Vasser girl a good distance away. Probably discouraged by how far away she was, how close the finish line was and my own low confidence in my finished kick I did not chase her as much as I should have. Was passed by a St. Lawrence girl in the final stretch. Overall I am content with this race, nothing surprisingly fast or surprising slow, just very consistent. What do they say though...you can't keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results. I could always eat a little better, sleep more consistently (average amount have been good but large fluctuations on a night to night basis), hydrate better, etc. Finished 8th out of 110 which I am really pleased about. Our team came in 4th after a heart wrenching tie breaker with Vasser was not in our favor. I just have to remember I can do better and to keep my head in the game.

Wore new spikes! Much better than the last pair that cut up my heels really badly.
