Notes

A much better race than the darn 5k was. Race started very conservative so the whole race was all packed up and I was in lane 2 for a good portion of it. Yo-yo-ed(?) from the the top "pack" where Maddie was and the middle back until finally settling by Becky when the race broke opened. Maddie and the other top girls really dropped the pace and I lost them pretty quick. Went back and forth with Becky a bit. Legs definitely feeling shot in the last 1k or so. Coach told me the Rochester girl (who won the 5k) was coming up on me and managed to kick it in for a 5th place just fractions of a second in front of her. I'm happy with it, obviously not a fast time, but it was a tough weekend with some really tough races for me.

other notes: Right heel SO tight all during shakeout and walking around at the meet. Worked on it for a long time at the meet just with some self massage and a little foam rolling and luckily that did the trick!! Didn't feel it at all in warm up, the race or during cool down!! Hips also super tight so did hip mobility before (after forgetting to do it after the 5k) and after the race.

Can you believe last year I ran 17:48 and doubled back with a 10:33 and was disappointed?!?!?! Grr... And by not running faster than a 10:35 there goes my chance to get all green bars on the top of my TFRRS page. (it was on a banked track though so tfrrs should have converted it slower anyway)

P.S. Check out that 38 last lap!!
