Great race! Got off the line well by my standards, but was still a fair bit back from Jaime/Maddie (got pinched when the course narrowed) and had to go right of the pole!!! Mile in still too far back, had eyes up ahead knowing I needed to catch up, however the race was still a little crowded. Coming out of the trail caught a big group and was feeling really strong. After the road crossing (on the slight hill up) I continued to pick up places determined to catch Stephanie Milici from RIT. Went through 5k at 18:20. Caught up to the back of Emma Jones and Lisa with 800m to go, but lost contact with them quickly. Finished 5th overall in a time of 22:00, just about a 40 sec PR!! I wanted to break 22 today, however I think 22 flat is close enough for pre-regionals. Still haven't hit my 10k track pace in a 6k yet, funny enough that would give me a 21:48. So doable!
