2 inches of rain overnight and 3 during the race. Was in 4th place from the beginning and has 2nd and 3rd place in sight at about 9 mi. Decided to keep it steady and catch them if it happened. Footing was so/so through the turnaround. Was about 4 mins behind 3rd place at the turn and 5th was about 8 mins behind me. Footing got worse on the way back and did a lot of walking/hopping up and down the hills due to mud and puddles. caught and passed 3rd place lady at about mile 25. Very happy with my time since I was expecting closer to 6 hrs due to the difficulty of the course and the added rain conditions.
