Ran the Moscow March 5k race. It was 3.25 miles long, by the Garmin. 20:27, 6:17 pace for the distance. I was 1st for the 46-60 Male age division. Didn't feel like I ran fast enough, not happy with my mile splits, and I didn't try to beat the young man in front of me at the end. tailwind out, headwind back, 5-15mph probably. Sunny day, started out cold in the early morning at 27 degrees, warmed up quickly to 40ish. Could have been warmer, but it was dry and sunny, and it was calm all morning before the race started.
I did not taper or rest for this race, and it showed! I should have been faster. Disappointed with time/pace. I'm racing again tomorrow in Spokane...
Splits: 6:17, 6:13, 6:28, 1:27 = 20:27 for 3.25 miles, 6:17 pace.
