Cirque Du Soleil 5K in Las Vegas. Disappointed with my race, but was first in my new A/G M60-64 by 1:23. Also beat the M55-59 group by 1:19. I should have run nearly a minute faster, but legs and feet were worn out from two solid days of walking around on the Las Vegas strip, plus today is a record high temperature day in Vegas; 91 was the high, and it was low 70's and clear, hot sun at race time this morning. This is my first run this year in clear hot sunshine with temps over 63F? I had a decent first mile, then realized my legs were too tired to maintain my pace, and really lost it in the third mile. NO sprint finish, because I would have probably collapsed before the finish line. Did not use Albuterol, probably should have as breathing was a bit of an issue, especially around mile 1. No lisinopril HCTZ last night or this morning; probably could have taken t and it would not have made a difference, despite the negative side effects I've been having from it.
Splits: 6:23, 6:45, 7:02, :48 Garmin time 20:59, unofficial race time 20:57, Garmin had 3.13 miles.
