Notes

"Run For the Hill of IT" race up the old spiral highway in Lewiston. Resting pulse this morning was 42-44 - nice and low. I ate a bunch of extra carbs yesterday and still managed to lose a half lb overnight? Nice race today, it was raining in Pullman early, and down to 46 degrees, but Lewiston at race time was dry and 55, and it was 55 at the top of the hill after the race. I wore the Windermere long sleeve top and that was plenty - I almost wore my wind breaker over that, and as usual that would have been too much and a mistake. Doug Jacobsen was there and took 1st place. I was 4th over-all. And a full minute or more faster than two years ago! Yes! Probably because the weather was cooler, even though I said I wished it was warmer and sunny. Rained a bit overnight and that cleaned up the dirty air, since the wind had been blowing yesterday and there's a lot of pollen out there. I ran back down the hill afterwards, that was very nice and not too hard at all. Stashed a pair of padded Ronin's in a bag at the finish line to run back down in, since the Wave Universe's are just too light and not good for long downhills. They were perfect for going uphill today! Wore socks with them. Not sure if I needed too, but didn't want to experiment going sockless for the race.
