Sweethearts 4 mile race, wasn't sure I could run because of left knee problems, but new intense stretches of my left big toe to restore some range of movement lost to hallux rigidus seems to have made a difference. I ran the whole race pain-free!!! I could still feel my knee a little, but not painful. Yesterday morning I was barely able to run a mile indoors due to the knee, before I started stretching this way.
Final mile today - had a little power left, so last .5 in 2:45 with a small tailwind, and final sprint at sub-4:30 pace. Finished at an all out sprint, as usual. Glad I ran this. Pete M. was first O/A, DougJ was 2nd, Bunce boy was third, I was forth O/A. Nice!! I won a small stuffed dog toy in the prize drawing.
Perfect weather today - 53 and some sun before the race, 57 after the awards ceremony, partly to mostly sunny. Nice!
