Notes
This was pretty tough. It was still quite warm out for a long run, but I wanted to just get it done rather than wait to run at night. Man do I really gotta switch over to mornings. Right now when I wake up running just feels like the last thing I want to do, but a couple hours later I'm up for it. I think I just need to start the habit and then it won't feel that bad.
This run felt pretty long, but I think that's mostly because of the heat. I wore my running vest because I absolutely needed two bottles with me on this one. One with water and one with half powerade. That worked pretty well. I also drank on every mile rather than every 15 minutes. I was still pretty dehydrated by the end. Makes me think about those races in the heat. Holy moly how in hell do those folks get through that.
Regardless of all that, I'm happy with this effort. The 2 miles that were 10 minute pace were on some fairly technical trails in summer lake. I'm always surprised at how slow I go. I feel like I'm really moving. You can see by my HR that I'm pushing more, but that's just trails I guess.
