Notes

My first fast finish long run in a while. I did 8 miles easy, and then 8 miles at "marathon pace". That's in quotes because there is no way I could have continued running today for another 10 miles at that pace. I guess I went a bit too hard during this, but that's alright. This happens a lot when starting a training program. The first harder run feels too hard. Typically, you're supposed to ease into it and go faster in later training runs but I somehow got it in my head that 7:45 is where I'm at for a marathon which is not true. The first few miles seemed alright but then with a few left, it was a lot more like tempo effort and then at the end with that hill at the end it was close to race effort, because at the point I was just like lets finish this thing and for some freaking reason I cannot end going slower once I start to go faster.

But, my legs feel good. The weather was nice and this was an early morning weekend run for me which is pretty sweet. This is another 50 mile week and I'm on my way to breaking my monthly miles record. :) {custom2,35.6} {testing,30}

Wow man, you really killed it in those later miles. I didn't think it was advisable to run marathon pace during your long runs :) I was aiming for marathon pace plus 20% for about the first half or slightly more working toward marathon pace plus 10% for the remainder. But your times were amazing in the end. I saw your comment about maybe going too fast, but if you keep this up you'll reach your half marathon goal for sure :) nice work on another 50 mile week too. Yes, let's aim for a Wed run.

This was a killer effort D. Looks like you were really truckin' out there for the second half. Way to keep the streak alive in grand fashion!

Wow, very very impressive buddy. I know you might have felt like it was too hard towards the end, but you have to be pleased, very solid work!
