Notes
After we got home, I filled up the water bottle and grabbed a snack and headed back out to Big Cedar to get in a little running. My plan was to do the 6.5 mile Ranger trail, but I got turned around somehow and ended up back at the trail head in less than a mile, so I said fuck it and did the Texas Sunset trail. Since that would only be about 3 miles, I figured I would swap out water bottles and try a couple more miles on Ranger, but by the time I finished the final climb on TS I was smoked so headed back to the truck. I was planning on 6-8 reps of 3min run/5min walk - but after 4, my lungs and heart had had enough - so I just hiked the rest of the way.
Also notable that I didn't see a soul on the trail this time or this morning - which is pretty unusual for any weekend day when the trails aren't muddy.
Met a nice dude who had driven from New Orleans to ride the trails on his mountain bike. We chatted a bit and I answered his questions about how hard the hills were, bugs, critters, etc. He was fixing a flat while we talked. It seemed like he had a complete bike shop of tools complete with a park tools repair stand.
