Met Kevin and Ryan at Gateway. Their friends Derrick and Mark showed up, too.
It felt like we were starting out a little too fast for the first 10-15 miles but then I felt pretty warmed up and helped set the pace on the hills and bulldozing the wind on the flats. Great ride. The weather was crazy cool for July. I was actually a little chilly when we were blasting down hill in the shady sections. Chilly. In Texas. In July. WTF?
When we got to the turnaround, I forgot that I was clipped in and just fell over. That got them some laughs and me some road rash. My shoulder must have taken the shock because it was pretty sore and starting to cause a headache on the way back. I'm really loving the shoes and pedals though.
