Felt WAY better than I expected. I took the lead at 800 meters after passing all the pretenders. Had a small gap through the mile in 5:15. Just before the second mile 2 old guys caught me. We hit the 2 mile mark in 10:27, 5:12 for the second mile. The 2 geezers opened up a small gap on me. Just like kurvach used to do, just like the indoor ecac 5k. I need to grow a pair and suck it up when it gets tough. On the uphill finish I kicked down one of the grandpas but the other one got me by 11 seconds. Only 4 seconds off my pr! The winner was 49 years old! WTF!?
This is likely my best post-collegiate performance
