Clarksburg 10K (WV USATF State Road Championships)
35:16 (5K Splits: 17:27/17:49)
4th Place WV and 10th overall (top 6 all international runners)
Hot one (80-degrees by start). First race since November and just my 4th race since October 2015 (last 20-months). Pretty pleased to get through it. It was so hot I'm not sure how this time reflects on my fitness. I'm pretty sure on the right day on a fast course and cooler day I could run multiple minutes faster, but that is typical post-clarksburg response. I'm still at least 5-pounds heavy still and only cranked things up the last month plus so I think if I can stay committed and life allows I can get back to being faster regardless to what my time "reflects" to today. Fun to be back out there--thankful to at the age of 35 (36 in 2 weeks) still be able to battle for WV money spot. Received $150 for 4th and $100 travel money. 2nd Place WV was the time I ran here my last trip to Clarksburg in 2011 (33:45). I feel young so maybe that should be my goal next year! :)
