Notes
1st 5k of the year the Bunny Dash 5k at Deer Grove in Palatine. Used to intern at the place that put this race on so I got in for free which was kinmng of cool. Didnt really know what the competition would be like for this and at the start it looked pretty small. I started in the front but not the way front maybe 2 or 3 rows behind the front guys. Once the gune went off I moved up throught all the ppl that blitzed out and settled in lik 10th or so then just kind of built into the run got up to 4th around the mile and that's where I stayed for most of the race to be honest. I could see the top 3 in front of me and they were all gapped apart so not much competition seemed like we were all running the same pace just 100 meters behind one another. If I had started with the leader I could probably have just ran with him and had a good compeition for 1st but I didnt and the ground we had between us wasnt really something I could make up. I ended up getting past right at the finish by some guy who looked between 40 and 50 and kind of came out of nowhere so that kind of sucked and it sucked even more when I found out he rean 3.5 miles to get to the race and got there right when the gun was about to go off but other than that I thought this was a pretty good run felt nice and smooth didnt get any splits becasue I didnt wear my garmin in the race but I imagine my splits were pretty even its tough to negative split something like this if you are running alone for most of the race, nice weather and overall I am pretty content with this ended up getting 5th overall and winning my age group so thats kind of cool. My sister won her age group as well so congrats to her on that
