Notes

Heart of Biddeford 5k. 2nd place overall. Right from the start, the eventual winner took off at well below a 6 minute pace and he made it clear that I wasn't going to beat him. I was doing just fine through the first 2 miles until I encountered three successive hills right at the start of the last mile. Each hill got progressively more difficult. Up the first little hilll with ease and then up the second medium sized hill. The flagger is pointing left so I go left. I have my headphones in but I can still hear the cars honking. I turn back and realize that he pointed me in the wrong direction. I am pissed and say out loud "C'mon man!" and proceed up the final short but very steep hill. I was completely out of breath and it took me almost half a mile to regain my breathing. Finished strong and over the finish. Took off for a post-run and forgot to collect my AG award, which was a small drinking jar, that I will test out this evening with a frothy beverage. Thanks for getting that for me Randall.

Scorps

It sucks that they turned you around like that as it seems sub 19 is imminent. Regardless, awesome race. Way to beat those hills and claim the 2OA. All this after 18 tough ones a couple days ago. This is stupid good. Well done my friend.

Way to go Egad!

Arrrgghhh, son of a bitch. I've had that same thing happen. Made me mad all over again just reading this heh. Still damn speedy even with that.

Super job, Egad! I was in NYC this weekend (forgot that this was planned when we last spoke at Tuesday's group run). I would not have been much help to you pushing the pace, as I would not have gone sub-20. You are long gone from me, though I might still have a chance in the longer distances. Nice to see you tearing up the 5k's and 10k's. Congrats again!
