Holy shit. Wow. What an incredible experience. Hot, hilly, but crowds every inch of the course. AMAZING. Figured I would aim for about 4:10 pace but play it by ear depending on how I felt - it was HOT (probably slowed me by about 40-55 seconds per mile). Listened to my body. Only had 2 gels (about 1 hr and 2 hours) and otherwise Gatorade and water at almost every water station (about every mile) because I just felt THIRSTY and the thought of gels didn't sound appealing. NO STOMACH PROBLEMS AT ALL. Certainly slowed and felt tired by 2nd half, but didn't really hit the wall, only walked twice aside from walking through every water station. Very, very happy with this. 3 day carb load worked?
