Average Heart Rate = 120

Today it was a lot colder than normal...16 degrees wind chill. My heart rate was up no matter what I did and even when walking slowly I was around 90/93. I still think the Maffetone system will work but I 'REALLY' question the 180-65=115 for a max heart rate for someone 65 years one. I have read articles that heart rate systems are not really appropriate for older people and this seems to be the case for me. If I target 120 I can maintain an extremely slow run but at 115 I end up having to stop too much.

Today I sat my Garmin to alert me when my rate goes above 120 and I'll 'try' to keep it down to 115.
