Did not feel good when the alarm went off this morning so did not meet with the group. Headed out around 1ish to do a lap of Medicine Lake. This is the first time I've done the entire loop on foot (before that it was only on the bike) and I honest to god did not realize how hilly it is. I felt like I did 8 miles of constant climbing! This was a slow run - probably averaged 12:30-12:45/mi - there were a few minutes around 5.5 miles where I had stopped to try and keep this little PITA rat dog that had gotten loose out of a car at East Medicine Lake Park from being hit by a car. It wouldn't come to me when I called it, so just spent a few minutes waving off cars. There was one point where I'd been able to pick it up, but it rolled over in my hands and kicked me in the chin...and it was off again. Nice. I forgot to stop my watch while this was going on.
