Paces for the first 4-6 miles sucked ass for a couple of reasons:
1)I was running with a friend who had been sick for the past couple of weeks, so she was being conservative
2)slick spots on the greenway-it's been pretty wet here lately but the previous night it was cold enough for stuff to ice over. The greenway is about 50% asphalt/concrete and 50% boardwalk. The wood was especially slippery, so was definitely being careful.
Decided to not do any out & backs on the greenway to get mileage in, so mile 7/7.5-ish on was on the roads and better. I did start running ahead of my friend and doubling back for her if we got close to any turns so that she'd know where to do.
