Notes

felt much much better on this section. I think I came up with a good system for warming up and cooling down and eating. There is no time to cool down or anything after my first leg. I pretty much just hand off and then jog down to our van and get in so we can get to the next exchange. I spend my time at the next exchange after mine just getting my close back on. After that I pretty much have to get out and cheer on our incoming runner. 2 legs after my leg is when I actually do some jogging for about 5 minutes and some very light stretching. 3 legs after my leg I eat food so I am not starving by the time my next leg comes around. I also elevated my legs while I was eating. It is really hard to stay race ready for over 8 hours.

This leg also had an uphill start, but not nearly as bad as the first. This also made up for it with a nice couple downhills in the latter miles. Felt way better on this leg than my first. Probably because I had already raced and was opened up. Luckily I trusted my body and not the mile splits on the road because they were way off on this leg. It said I went through the mile in 5:50 and 2 miles in 11:20, which was way slow. I knew I was going much faster than that. The only problem with going 7th is that I literally was not running with another runner for any of my legs. I was pretty much just racing against the clock. Ended up beating this leg record as well. I think it was 16:15 before.
