15 min Tempo @ 2.61 miles, an average of 5:45/mile, much quicker than last time. Felt similar to the last time I did the tempo (about 2 weeks ago), but I had a little more in me at the end, and extended overall time by about 2-3 mins. I did stop for about 15-20 seconds at the top of the hill just to get a quick breather, although it looks like max heart rate was actually not all that high today, so idk, maybe the colder air was just harder to breath in. I'm trying to make the tempo runs a bit faster as I head into track season. In general, I think a training routine that is very similar to summer is what I plan to stick to, but more of an emphasis on building speed-endurance. That being said, I goal is to keep tempo pace between 5:30-5:45, as opposed to 5:50-6:00 during the summer. But max tempo will probably only be around 25 mins as opposed to 40.
