Notes

Actually a 5k, so around 5:53 pace. Interesting race. In terms of how "in it" I felt, way better than last week. I felt more confident and strong, and I didn't just fall off and die. The race went out fast for me, so the first couple of splits, I think, were quick and I definitely definitely felt that as the race went on. I think I just need more training and I'll be able to feel more comfortable, like in the Twilight race, but I was NOT comfortable this race. I felt awful! Idk if it was because I was rushed and didn't get to do all the dynamics or really any strides or anything, but the pain was instant and intense. My legs felt like lead early on, especially my calves. Later on I got that oxygen-deprivation feeling where my toes on my right foot kinda went numb (also could have been too tight shoes) and my left hand got a little numb too. That, I think, was because my breathing felt really bad. It just felt like there was a lot of pressure there. Idk why, probably the indoor air, but I was struggling to comfortably breathe. Heart race was pretty high, too. Still, I was able to tough it out and I think I did well in not falling off pace too much. I tried to surge toward the end but I didn't have much of anything left. I think I passed one guy, and only got lapped by one lap lol. Thanks to coach I was able to know how many laps I had because the odd start totally threw me off. Also shoutout to Michael for running an extra lap––very on par. Although this wasn't an amazing race, I think it's a step forward and in a better direction.
