Des Plaines Trail 50-Miler. Forgot to turn on GPS; last time it was on was Vienna so I could not get it working for 23 miles. No mile references for second quarter of the race, accidentally went too fast and came into the turnaround on 5:42 pace (goal 6 hours). Big oops, ~6:50 avg instead of 7:00-7:12. Cut back to 7:20s and was going ok but my back went out about 32 miles. Walked almost everything after that until dropping out around 38. Credited myself for the ~32 I actually ran.
