2k @ T w/ 1' R + 6 x 800 @ 5k w/ 2' R
After warming up, I headed over to the track to see that the entryway I normally take was locked. Went around the long way in hope of finding another door, only to realize that I could have just went the other side of school, saving me a couple of minutes. Goal was to get consistent 2:30's because I haven't done an interval workout in a while and wanted to make sure I wasn't too ambitious.
2k felt fine, but I took longer rest because I wanted to use the bathroom, but i couldn't' find one, so I just had to hold it in.
First one I started out slow and had to haul ass the second lap in order to hit pace.
Second rep, I took it out harder to avoid going off pace, but ended up running a 73 first lap, and then slowing down to a 75 second second lap.
Ran the same way in the third lap and told myself I had to slow down the first lap a bit or I'll drop too much in time.
Fourth one, I controlled myself and took it out just a little slower. Got through in 74 and then another 74. Perfect.
Fifth one, I didn't check my watch after the first lap and came in around the same time.
Last rep, I didn't check my watch at all and gauged on effort. My legs were starting to feel heavy, but I stayed in rhythm and finished strong.
Honestly, this workout went a lot better than I thought and clearly, I had more potential than I thought. I just need to be more confident in myself and understand that just because I'm in slight pain doesn't mean I need to slow down.
