Can't believe it's already been a year since my last Parkside race. Only had one goal for this race, which was to be consistent from my Augie race. I remember this race being extremely tough so I had to take the first half of the race really relaxed if I want to even get through the second part strong. Got off to a good start and stayed a few seconds behind Eric. Went through first mile in about 5:23. From there, Cobert and Zany caught up and we stayed as a pack for the next mile and a half. Second mile was ridiculously fast because it was all downhill. Went through in about 5:07. Zany started making moving up near the third mile, so I tried to catch up to him and passed Frintner and Eric along the way. Stayed behind Joe for the rest of the race until Eric and I passed him with 400 meters to go.
Overall, I stayed pretty consistent from last time, despite not feeling great at the beginning of the race and not being a morning racer. I need to be able to make some moves even when I'm not 100%, so maybe the LOTW workouts will help make that an easier transition.
