Notes

It was 0 degrees outside when I considered running. i definitely could have ran outside by wearing a lot of protective layers, but I wanted to make the long run somewhat of a workout. I would have to deal with having to run fast with a lot of clothes on and the cold dry air and that would not have been helpful for a good run. So, I settled with a treadmill workout at NYSC. Brought my phone with me so I could keep myself entertained while running on the dreadmill.

The workout was to start at 8 mph/1% incline and then raise the mph by .1 every 5 minutes. No change in incline. Jumped to 8.2 instead of 8.1 by accident, but it wasn't a big deal anyway. Once I got to 9.2, I bumped it up to 0.2 every 5 minutes. The sweat was annoying to deal with, but at least I wasn't dealing with frostbite. Finished the run at 13 miles with a final pace of 10.2 mph for the last few minutes. Pretty happy with how this went. The progression helped make the run go faster and I got to watch a few episodes of Jojo as well. Win win for me.
