Notes
One of the very few races during high school that I vividly remember. I felt really excited going into this, which affected my race in the very beginning, when in the first mile, I hit 5:20. Halfway into the forest, I slowed down a little, and Joe finally caught up to me. For the next 1.5 miles, it was a relentless battle between me and Joe, and I had to use everything I had to not lose to him. I have never felt so bad anaerobically, but it was all worth it when I came to the finish line just a little ahead of Joe. It was the best race I've ever had in my high school cross country career. So glad to have a running buddy like Joe.
