One thing I find difficult about tempo runs is getting through the first three miles because of trying to get a groove going. Once I hit 4 miles the pace felt much more natural. It was pretty hard keeping the same pace though; one of my miles was in 5 51, which is near threshold pace. Once I hit 7 miles, I changed course to Mahwah High School so I can get back to the meet and cheer on Joe and Henry in the 4x400. Had to cut it a bit short because of bathroom urgency but otherwise it was a decent workout. I should probably figure out the actual length of the loop because it can easily affect my mileage otherwise.
