First 7 mile Steady State of the summer. Started this workout very late so I wouldn't have to worry about weather affecting my run. I decided to try using my breathing as an indicator today rather than my watch.
First mile went well, just a little over 6 minutes. Felt myself slowing down a few times during the run, so I immediately bounced back. Second and third mile went well. Had to remind myself I was much stronger than I felt whenever I felt tired. However, the workout started to become more difficult because it was becoming much more mental than it was physical. I just did not have the right mindset to continue so I stopped at 6 miles.
I think I was just mentally out of it before the workout. I could not focus and I was unable to retain mental sharpness. Hopefully next week, I will be ready to run and not feel like shit beforehand.
