I was supposed to do this run yesterday morning, but my son decided to swallow a penny on Friday. I spent the entire evening and night at the hospital barely sleeping and eating. I tried to go sleep early last night, but woke up an hour later than I wanted to.

The first 5 miles felt a little brutal. I upped my HR limit from 151 to 155 so I could run a little faster given that I started late. My stomach felt heavy and even though I didn't drink very much, it like it was full of liquid. I ran a ~5 mile loop 2x. On miles 3-5, 8-10 of that loop, the wind was at my back and I could feel how hot it actually was. It was horrible.

At mile 6 I bumped up my pace from ~10:30 min/mile to 8:40-8:50. This bit of a speed increase was awesome. The wind was at my face, but it was keeping me cool. I kept this up pretty well until I hit mile 9. I could feel myself overheating. This really did me in. I was glad to stop running when my watch said I had run 10 miles. I shuffled my way back to the house.
