Notes

I watched ah hour long video documenting how the effects of WWII changed cinema in the 40s and lead to the Neo-Realism movement in Italy and then the downfall of Hollywood studio control in the mid 50s. Nate Gordon contacted me asking if I would like to run around 4:20. Sounded good to me. I had no weed anyway. I wandered over to NCA 18A against the woods and gave the door a knock or two or three. I was wearing a larger pair of shorts over my running shorts because they were incredibly short shorts and I was also wearing a very over sized life is good tee shirt and so there was a risk that if I had not worn the extra shorts it might have appeared that I could have been parading around wearing nothing but a ginormous shirt. If only I could have been then life would have good and free. but there are rules against that sort of thing and so it goes. Nate greeted me at the door wearing exactly what I had planned to wear--the same brand maroon shorts, sunscreen, and no shirt. How embarrassing, what was I to do? the only option was to address the coincidence before he could. ha-HA! I too have the shorts, very nice aren't they? what would we do without our shorts? Nate offered me sunscreen. I accepted and soon after striping to my briefs we were off. It was a sweaty one. towards the end of our loop in the bfec was we came around the corner towards the observatory there was a large cow 40 meters ahead on the opposite side of the fence that it should have been. It was with us on the bfec path blocking the way. what were we to do? who knows the potential danger we were in with this cow. i didnt know this cow's life. if she was able to get over the fence she could have been capable of other unexpected actions. another enclosed cow neared the three of us. It mooed and pushed on the fence towards the loose cow as if she missed her friend and wanted to be with her. aww i thought. but that cow didnt get over. the loose cow finally wandered a little further down the path away from us and Nate and i could round the corner. we launched ourselves down the road, turning our heads to make sure we werent being pursued. Back at NCA 18A nate and i drank orange Gatorade and sat in the sun.the plan was to go to Gomez's house for BBQ at 6:15. I bid adieu to Nate and went out the door. I was headed back to the apartment above the market where I had been crashing with cortney, but i had no means of endering and cortney didnt have a phone. I tried to call chloe (who was also staying there) but no luck. I turned around and went back to NCA 18A and knocked on the door. boy, nate must have been surprised to see me again. i informed him of the situation and he permitted me use the shower at NCA 18A. Nate lived in the penthouse of NCA 18A. good natural light up there. I showered. good water pressure too. Nate played his music and i learned about a new james taylor song called 'Mexico'. that was good too. we went to the market apartments because it was nearing 6:15 and chloe was driving. we met kyle and he hopped in the car too. it was eventful ride that consisted of driving in circles and taking the long ways thanks to the chloe/nate driver/navigator team. lotta friction there. oh my god so much friction. we got there in one piece, though, as they say (i kid, i kid). burgers and hot dogs a plenty. Clymer and his wife Elizebeth and their kids somethign and something were all there. there was talking and stuff and it was nice. towards the end cortney and i were spelling out words using broken up pieces of twigs on the deck which was fun. on the way back we got ice cream at walmart which is a store i think mrs clymer hates from the discussion at the cookout. the ice cream was cookies n cream but it also had bits of chocolate chip cookie in it. fine day
