Notes
500mx10 with 300m recovery. This workout went unexpectedly well.
Decided to aim for 4:10/km which was the target time for the 1kx5 last week. The shorter distance definitely helped to stay focused.
I struggled a bit during the first few, but managed not to think about the remaining laps tackling one at a time. Drowned the little voices telling me to slow down by positive pep talk.
I also worked on my form. Since I was told that I pull up my knees too high, tried to take short light steps. I also noticed that while I keep my upper body from the hip bone tall, my pelvis is not in neutral position, which puts excessive stress on mid-back and high-hamstrings. So during the 300m recovery, I tried to "reset" my posture by pausing and try to fall from my ankle before taking the first step.
I loved how the cool down portion felt SO easy after speed workout. I felt like I was in a groove, so carried on the next 3km at a sub-5:00 pace.
BM LS (needed some motivation)+saucony crops+lght. gloves
The temp. at start was 7C but dropped to 2C by the time I finished. Couldn't slow down too much to avoid getting the chills.
