Notes
Covered the 5.5-16k portion of the half course. Had lots of negative chatter during the first 10k. Just couldn't get into the groove. Perhaps because I worked myself up too much? (Turns out I ran closer to 20k, rather than the intended 18k. No wonder it felt hard towards the end.)
Plan was to run easy (5:30) till Mapo bridge (5k), find a comfortable pace between 8-12k and see if I could pick up pace during the last few kms. The garmin setting didn't work properly so that threw me off a bit. Need to figure out how to display pace in kms while the laps are in miles. Pace approx. since garmin was inadvertently turned off between 8-9mi.
Cherry blossoms were beautiful, and while running through downtown and along the busy road (13-15.5km) was unpleasant with crazy drivers, it was good to see part of the course. Crossing the bridges reminded me of Burrard. Prepare for wind. And the climb before the Mapo-gu office wasn't as bad.
Back still stiff but didn't get worse. And no foot pain. Yay!

Garmin
System setting: Distance>mi, Pace>km
Activity setting: Auto lap>1.0mi
With the above setting, it showed the pace at end of each mile as 8:XX.
