Notes

Checked out part of 1/2M course near WCS (out n' back section from 17k point). Didn't run inside the park heading out so I'd have something to look forward to on the way back. The road was wide so there will be no congestion. Pretty flat so a bit monotonous. Glad I took a detour at the 11km mark. There was a long slope heading towards the bridge! That would've been a big surprise on race day.

Started out slow, but realized I was going too fast when Garming beeped @ 6km. Tried to slow down till I got to back to the river again.

Got too warm towards the end, but was nice to get into a groove from 10kish onwards. Probably pushed more than I should've if I was going to make this an easy run.

Exploring the park section on the way back was fun. So many paths to explore! I need to make a new category for my runs (ExploRun) so I can go longer and not worry about pace. No mapping out routes in advance, it should involve taking pictures, and intentionally getting lost. Average pace should be no faster than 5:30k, closer to 5:50.

dhb merino+NB shorts+CP socks, too warm as the RF was closer to 13-16C with the sun.

Hey Joe, just notices your message. Great to hear from you!

My running has been like a pendulam; some days it feels like things are finally getting better, and other days another niggle pops up. I put on some extra pounds which doesn't help either! :p

I needed some motivation so I signed up for a half, but we'll see how it goes.

Excellent - good luck with the training!!!

I had coffee with Gord and the Boston bound crew this morning - they are looking good - Colleen is getting pretty excited.

Any idea if you will be online while they are running? I can't figure out the time zone math :)

You bet! I'll definitely be tracking the Victoria gang. Especially Colleen and Hannah! I'm soooo excited about them running too.

I just checked and Seoul is 13 hour ahead of Boston. It's going to be a sleepless night. ;)
