Notes
First time on the Ft. Braden Hiking Trail: neat stuff. Saw 2 people on horseback (separate trail for horses) and one lone hiker.
Saw several deer, one turtle, swallowed a bug, plenty of mosquitos, small creeks to jump, a few muddy areas, etc. The trail was 99% single track with a few lake Talquin views, plenty of roots, stick ups, up and down small (but sometimes steep) hills, and sharp turns. I only tripped 5 times and took a major spill once (lots of tree roots). Sustained 3 minor cuts/scrapes on rear of left leg above the heel, and a slightly contused and very muddy right knee. Got my shoes a little wet, but not too dirty. Followed the orange blazes, but had to stop several times for a few seconds to figure out which way to go. Stopped twice to take a variety of debris out of my shoes. (Later on Saturday, I ordered a pair of gaiters.)
The only things missing were ticks and horseflies, but I can go back for those anytime this summer.
