I wanted to keep the momentum from yesterday so I went out for another 5K. It didn't start out as a tempo run but then I just kept feeling strong. Initially I wanted to try and keep a low HR but I felt so strong and I have been running for long enough now that I figured I could push a little bit. I did the 1st mile at 8:44 and just tried to maintain that pace the whole time. Turned out just right as I managed a 8:38 pace. I think I'm going to try and do this 1 or 2 times a week to try and push my body a little more to help increase speed. I'll do a time trial on Mondays. Rest Tuesday. Easy Run Wednesday. Tempo on Thursday. Rest Friday. Distance (Slow) Saturday. Rest Sunday. I really want to try and stick to this schedule for 1 month and see if my Time trials show any improvement from today. Felt great the whole run and fast!
