Back to cruise miles. As usual, for each 1600 run, one minute of rest. Goal for tonight was 1600-3200-1600-1600. When I'm running my usual mileage, I usually end up doing anywhere from 6-8 reps, for tonight I thought 5 would be a success.

Ran the workout with John, Andy, and Pawlicki. We agreed in advance to target 5:36 (42 per lap) as the goal pace, which is consistent with the pace charts. Given our overall health and mileage, this seemd like a reasonable target and we left some buffer if we wanted to pick up the pace slightly but still keep it above 5:30. When we're running more mileage, we'll probably pick up the pace a little. I'm sure Keefe/Sean would have taken the lead and dropped us to 5:25's if they were there.

Overall can't complain. Pretty much hit our splits like clockwork. Biggest challenge was dealing with the groups on the track, where we were stuck passing in lanes 3 and 4 at time. Not as big of an issue for this workout, but will make the 200's next week interesting. Probably could have gutted out another one, but no need to risk reinjurying myself at this point. Plenty of time to pick up the mileage over the upcoming months.

Between Mill Cities and tonight's workout, getting a little more confidence in my fitness coming back. Not completely there yet, but not too far off.
