Solo workout at DeFazio. Original planned workout was 6x1000 to continue working on 5K speed. I did not get good sleep at all last night so was not feeling exactly fresh this morning. Temperature could not have been better though, so that's a shame I couldn't capitalize on that aspect.

I started off the workout with the leadoff 1000 which after 600 meters, I was way off pace and decided to shift the strategy into Joe's SRR workout for tonight, which was 10x800 continuous alternating between LT and MP. Even then, still couldn't quite hit the splits perfectly. Goal (actual) were as follow:

LT: 2:46 (2:43, 2:50, 2:49, 2:45, 2:45)

MP: 2:58 (3:01, 2:56, 2:57, 2:57, 2:42 - decided to just do the "usual" LT fast pace for this one)

LT had two slow reps (and that was based off a 5:32 mile, not our usual faster than designed threshold miles). MP was pretty much in the ballpark for all.

The nice takeaway from this workout is that the MP miles did feel like good recovery miles. I was still working but it wasn't a terribly hard effort. Granted, I am still nowhere in shape to carry these on for 26 miles but cant expect that without getting in the volume workouts.
