Notes

The more I think about the race the more lukewarm it feels. I had the field set out for me to go sub 9 and I fell off the train yet again. Not sure if I doubted myself or what when the pace finally dropped, because I definitely felt like I was pushing really hard with 7 more to go. I was able to re-engage once to hang on for maybe another lap or so, but didn't solidify a hold. Had I held on for even 1 more lap I probably would have had Couell to run with. Thought this would have been the day I finally put a tally on the board against Big B-Ron but alas I got rolled up by him as well. Finished 1 spot lower than my seed but had a feeling Boofy would be good for a sub 9 today.

Season best but it doesn't feel that way. Last week when I finished I couldn't even cool down. I knew at Dartmouth I had given everything. Today I was able to cooldown without much problem, showing maybe there could have been more to give in the race. Caffeine yet again, as far as I know it didn't hinder me.

5k at Utica. I observed today that when I fell off today I went into a grind mode where I just started running 38s without slowing down much more(after doing some 35-36s earlier in in the race). Think I could fare pretty well doing that for longer. Also my mile time and 3k now both line up to a 65 vDot, if I run a 65 vDot for the 5k I have a seriously good chance of getting into States.
