This was awesome. Did the same tempo-effort progression style from last time. Took it out easier so that I could start clipping it at the 5 mile mark. It was quick, I could tell that my improvement in form was making the 6:00 flat pace very easy right off the bat. I would estimate again that I never ran any faster than 5:40, but I was able to hold 6:00-5:50 pace for the final 3 miles. Still, its only a guess as to how fast I was really going, but the effort was there!
Times like this that I wish I still had the GPS watch around so that I could have broken this up into the warm-up portion and tempo-effort portion of the run. Still, I think that pace average is pretty darn good considering the beginning. Shakeout this morning definitely helped getting me right into the swing of it.
