From the official results I was about 10 seconds faster.
The mile markers and my GPS were not lining up at all through the first 10 miles. Hit 10 mile marker at 59:57 and 1:02:10 on my watch. Lots of hills on this course, made it pretty hard to get into a rhythm through most of it. Had a couple of downhill miles towards the latter stages and opened up a bit, dropping the pack I had been in for most of the race. Last 5k I ramped up the effort a lot but really didn't go very fast...GPS had me at 5:49,5:53,5:51.
Overall pretty happy. Even with the rolling hills taking some more out of my legs I was still running 6:20s uphill. Unfortunately only half the distance of what I will be taking, but this workout gave me a lot of confidence in how to control myself in a race environment. Also did a pretty good job grabbing fluids through the race, but surprised myself twice by grabbing electrolytes when I thought I was grabbing water.
