Run in Polson. First three miles were into a 30mph headwind. I was ok for two of them but the last mile was terrible. After the turn the crosswind was much better. A guy passed me at mile 2, but I caught back up to him around 6. At the half way we turned so we had a back wind and really flew. At mile 8 a girl flew by the two ofmus and got ahead by about 30 seconds or so by mile 9.5. We turned back into the wind at that point and we slowly chipped away at the gap until mile 12 were my left quad was really sore and calves were cramping. I let up even though she was only 8 seconds behind since it was uphill into the headwind. I had to walk three times that last mile (10 seconds or so followed by 45 seconds running). I wish I would have had the speed to catch her but the guy did and I would not have passed him. I am really disappointed that I had to walk and didn't have a good closing kick, but guven the conditions my second half was about 41 min and my first half was 43 so I am pleased with the negative split and not letting up until the end.
