Longest training run of my life! I was dreading this all week. Then Saturday had lunch with my parents and they talked about uncle Jon's gymnastics coaching and getting complaints when the girls cry because it's painful, even though he told them it would be. I realized I am just like those 8 year old girls. I still don't like runs over 3 hours, so much body damage. Ran from 3.5 to 10.5 miles with Chad, thank God! He coincidently started like a minute before me, and was going at a great pace. What are the odds, like four people in Dubuque do these kind of long runs, and he happened to be there, a minute before me. Drank 16 oz total and ate 100 calories. After the last few runs, I realized I just don't get hungry or thirsty for 2 hours, or at least 90 minutes. Why try and force down food when I just want to spit it back up? I have to listen to my body. Definitely got tired, but still closed with some 50m strides the last half mile.
