10k tempo on the track after a recovery run with Javi and David, GPS said 6.38, but really more like 6.25, I did run in lane two a couple times, but not much. Regardless 37:24 for 10k, which is right around 6:00 pace, and I will take it especially after a 1:14 half in the morning. Strange strange workout. Started out not feeling good (surprising right?) but after a 84 and 87 I slowed down but felt okay. I would have been happy with just 6k, or 8k, but at every point I was still consistently doing 6 flat pace so I just kept running. I figured every step at this point was giving me more training specific to a marathon than nearly any other workout I can do. So I'm really happy with it. That's one special block in the tank. Maybe another one, but not necessairly. I would prefer to get a couple (two) solid long runs in and some shorter mile repeats or short tempos (well, up to 7 miles) in rather than destroy myself in another day like this. BTW I slept a hard 90 minutes between the race and this workout around noon.
