did not want to lead the slow heat, despite being seeded at 32:12 and everyone else at 32:30 and slower. Fortunately a UWP guy took the early lead and took us through 4k. Then I took the lead and as soon as I took it I didn't hear him again, until the last lap. I suppose a couple 76s will do that though. I felt great though. Through four miles I felt really good. AFter that things got tough, but that's the reason I was out there. Anyway the last two miles were a struggle, the last mile especially. Look at those 1:20s, not pretty. then on the last lap the uwp guys on the sidelines were getting excited and I tried to push hard, but it just was not there and he went past me and put half a second on me in the last 50 meters. There was some wind on the backstretch and after leading 15 laps of it, I was tired. I will take it, 15s off a PR in cold, ever so slightly windy, and mostly alone, I'll take it.
