strange experience. I had the wrong schedule and showed up at 4:30 for the mile, which they ran at 4, so one official said run the 3k and talk to the second guy, who said we did the mile too. I asked if there were any other distance races left and all they had left was the 800, in like 20 minutes. I said put me in the slow heat, thinking everyone would run 2:04 or better. Well I started lane five with a two turn stagger and never saw another person in the race. splits of 31, 64 (33), 1:36 (32), (33), it was very aerobic until the last 125 meters then it was hard and I struggled with my form. after 300 meters I never heard anyone else behind me and it was basically a time trial, I think I could go 2-3 seconds faster with others running 2:05-7. It's a good race, nearly a 2s PR. now I'm a 2:0X guy! By the way the meet had a plethora of officials, probably the best run meet I have ever been to.
